cultural heritage, religion and environment

Cultural heritage is an important asset of our country. This includes most valuable arts, drawings, handicraft and old buildings. These are tangible cultural property. Cultural heritage also includes religion and human or spiritual qualities. Spiritual qualities are of affection and kindness. These are invisible qualities that are called intangible cultural property. Thus, cultural environment is so wider that it includes tangible and intangible cultural property. In particular, cultural environment includes natural heritage, religion and cultural heritage. A proper study of the environment helps us to know about cultural heritage, religion, social activities and their interrelationship.

Environment is an important source of fruits; water, clothes, and other things needed to celebrate
our social and cultural ceremonies. As we know that environmental resources are used in religion and cultural activities, we should protect our environment. So we should integrate conservation methods with our religion and social ceremonies.

To explain in a simple way, religion means to preserve. If we preserve our religion that helps to preserve us. It helps to unite our society. We should protect the things created by the help of religion. Religion protects our spiritual values and system. It helps us to be a useful and productive person of our society. Religion teaches several important things that help to protect our environment. We should not throw dirty things into rivers. We should nor defecate in or on the bank of river. If we do these types of activities they affect adversely us.

Our ancestor has prepared inscriptions of stones about this. Inscriptions state that we should not destroy our religious places and those should be properly maintained. Thus, we should preserve our religious places for our good health and happpy life. This practice of people will help to protect religion and cultural heritages. Our culture provides guidelines for the preservation of religious and natural environment. If we follow these guidelines, this helps preserve oue culture as well as environment.
